Why should organisations enter

  • Be recognised by the NHS for your achievements in treating NHS patients
  • Become nationally recognised as a leading independent healthcare provider
  • Demonstrate how you deliver value for money and efficiency
  • Help develop a clear evidence base that will ensure you stand out from your competitors
  • Present to a judging panel of senior NHS and leaders, and gain useful feedback
  • Receive coverage of your awards entry on HSJ’s online platforms and social channels
  • Strengthen bonds with existing NHS partners by jointly submitting and celebrating success

The Independent Healthcare Providers Awards winners are automatically shortlisted for the wider HSJ Awards 2027 programme - providing even greater exposure.

Entrants must be independent healthcare providers that offer services free at the point of care to NHS patients, in any setting. Projects can be conducted independently or in collaboration with an NHS organisation. While a partnership with the NHS is encouraged, it is not mandatory. However, all projects must serve NHS patients and provide evidence from the past two years up until the awards deadline date. For specific eligibility per category, please check our categories page.
